Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Emotional Healing

Cultivating Awareness, Compassion, and a Healthier Relationship with Yourself

Many of us move through life carrying stress, self-criticism, painful memories, difficult emotions, or expectations about who we should be. Over time, these experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, overwhelmed by our emotions, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve us.

Mindfulness and self-compassion offer a different way of relating to ourselves—not by avoiding pain or forcing positive thinking, but by meeting our experiences with greater awareness, kindness, and acceptance.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, burnout, or life transitions, therapy can provide a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and cultivate greater emotional well-being.

Common Reasons Clients Seek This Work

Many clients seek support with:

  • Anxiety and chronic worry

  • Depression

  • Stress and burnout

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Perfectionism and self-criticism

  • Shame and low self-worth

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Identity exploration

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Life transitions

  • Questions of meaning and purpose

For many people, suffering is intensified not only by what they have experienced, but by the harsh ways they have learned to relate to themselves in response to those experiences. Therapy can help foster greater self-understanding, flexibility, and compassion.

My Approach

Mindfulness has been an important part of my personal and professional life for more than fifteen years. I have maintained a mindfulness meditation practice since 2011 and am currently completing certification as a mindfulness meditation teacher.

In therapy, I integrate mindfulness and self-compassion within a broader psychodynamic, interpersonal, multicultural, and trauma-informed framework. Rather than teaching mindfulness as a stand-alone technique, I view it as a way of deepening awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and supporting meaningful personal growth.

I also welcome conversations about meaning, values, spirituality, and existential concerns when they are important to your life and identity. My role is not to promote any particular spiritual tradition, but to support you in exploring these questions in ways that feel authentic and personally meaningful.

Therapy Can Help You

Healing is not about becoming a different person. It is about developing the capacity to meet yourself more fully, honestly, and compassionately.
